About Susan

Susan MinierI love being a full-time mixed media, fabric collage artist. Since I began my adventure with fabric in 1994, I continue to enjoy the fun and challenge of creating brightly colored landscapes, florals, and houses collage art. Making beautiful floorcloths, table runners and placemats using acrylics, faux painting techniques, and collage is another creative area I am engrossed in. Sharing these techniques, I often lead workshops in collage and floorcloth making.

Since the late 90's, my artwork has been shown in many group exhibitions on the East Coast. As of 2008 I have had three solo exhibitions including one at the Woodstock Artists Association in Woodstock, NY, and another one at the Arts Society of Kingston in November, 2009. My next scheduled one person show will be held at the Flat Iron Gallery in Peekskill, NY in April, 2012.

In 2009 my collage "Wild Tulips" appeared in the 2010 calendar published by Cloth, Paper, Scissors magazine. An article about my work was also published in the 2008 November.December iss ue of Cloth, Paper, Scissors. In the school art textbook Perfect Match, 2010 edition, two of my collages were featured. As a participating artist of the Free Art in New York, a video about me and my work may be viewed online at Free Art in New York (Click "Meet the Artists").

My educational background includes graphic design at Broward Community Collage in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and fine art at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL. plus art-related workshops taken along the way.

Residing in New York's Hudson River Valley, I love the freedom of being a full-time artist.
